Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development

Qatar Foundation (QF) is a nonprofit organisation established in 1995 by Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. Its flagship initiative is Education city, an ecosystem of multiple universities, schools, research institutes, community centres focused on promoting academic excellence, regional innovation and entrepreneurship, social development and lifelong learning. QF operates more than 60 entities and has partnerships with leading international institutions. Its four core areas are: pre-university education, higher education, research development and innovation and community development. The foundation has also established several global initiatives, including the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) and the World Innovation Summit for Health, and TEDinArabic, and Earthna.

    The foundation's community initiatives aim to empower and engage local society, through promotion of heritage, arts and culture, health and sustainability and social development of communities.
  • Education
    Qatar Foundation offers learning opportunities for students of all ages and abilities including primary and secondary education through its own schools. The flagship initiative, Education City, hosts many of their higher-education programmes, including partnerships with some of the world’s top universities such as Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon and HEC Paris to run branch campuses in Qatar. The foundation also runs a homegrown university, and other research, scholastic, and community centres.
