The State of Governance in Philanthropy - Gulf Region
This report provides a detailed analysis of the findings of the research conducted by the Pearl Initiative as part of its Governance in the Philanthropic and Non-Profit Ecosystem programme that was launched in 2017. Findings in this report are based on the results of a survey that captured quantitative results from key individuals engaged in the philanthropic and non-profit ecosystem in the Gulf Region, a series of focus group meetings in Dubai, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and discussions with key individuals.

developed to complement these guidelines. We recommend that each organisation adopting this template independently evaluates and adjusts specific details in line with their organisational,
operational and strategic needs.

Excellence in Philanthropy Roundtable
Held in collaboration with Nafisa Shams, a Community Jameel initiative, this roundtable provided an open platform to gain insights on the tangible steps that can be taken to shift focus onto strategic philanthropy across the region. The roundtable aimed to establish collaborative efforts and collective impact to achieve scalable results in the Gulf Region, by promoting meaningful social impact through reporting, traceability and knowledge sharing.
