Nao Valentino is a development professional with wide-reaching experience across the private, public, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors. Nao specialises in macro and micro-level strategic planning, impact evaluation, and programme design. Nao began her career in corporate strategy and global operations for multi-national firms before finding her calling in global development. Although her focus has shifted to tackling development challenges, Nao still values her commercial experience to structure the concentrated and efficient approach that defines her work. Having most recently served as the Director of Strategy for one of the MENA region’s largest privately endowed foundations, Nao was responsible for full life cycle strategy development, organisational planning, programme evaluation, and communications. Nao also managed special projects focused on improving the philanthropic ecosystem in the Arab world. Previously, Nao served as an advisor and implementer for national planning efforts, system transformations, economic inclusion programs, and SME policy development. She spent several years as a management consultant supporting government clients in the US and internationally. Originally from New York, Nao is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the Boston University School of Management.
